On the left a Manasir man with a thick beard and buckteeth crouches beside two members of Wilfred Thesiger's party. Sahail bin Tahi, a tribesman of the Mudairiba lineage of Rashid Bedouin (centre), kneels in the centre, beside a pile of firewood. On the right Salim bin Ghabaisha, a tribesman of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, kneels next to the fire making coffee. He wears cartridge over his thobe (long shirt and a dark ghutra (headscarf). Behind the men tufts of vegetation grow in the sand in the background. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.
