As an artist, I have an ever-ready eye for good works by other artists. There is one artist in particular whose work I find fascinating - Albrecht Durer. I saw his rendition, which illustrates the Biblical account of the creation of Eve. It inspired me to create the same scene from the mind of someone who could only work with the traditional shapes and colours of Tsimshian art.

I used the same method of representing the human body and its parts as I would a bird, a fish, or any other animal. I have portrayed Adam lying on the ground and Eve emerging from his rib cage.

The spirit of God has been mentioned throughout the Bible as being represented by a dove, and so God is represented here as a bird hovering over The Creation of Eve.

Block Mount: High-quality print mounted on a 3/8” MDF board where a protective UV lamination is applied. Features a 3/4" black wood frame and a pre-cut hanger slot for easy hanging. (No glass).
