Background
Gli2 protein is a crucial transcription factor in the Hedgehog signaling pathway, playing a significant role in embryonic development and tissue homeostasis. It is involved in regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival in various tissues. Gli2 acts as both an activator and repressor of gene expression, depending on the context and the presence of Hedgehog ligands.
