Background
CD36 belongs to the scavenger receptor class B (SR-B), a family of highly glycosylated transmembrane receptors with a wide range of ligand recognition sites. It has been reported that glycosylation of CD36 is required for trafficking of intracellular CD36 to the cell surface membrane. Because of its wide range of ligands, CD36 has plenty of functions, including but not limited to recognizing and ingesting lipids, participating in the process of inflammatory response, signal transduction, and apoptosis. The expression occurs in monocytes/macrophages and microglia as well as various other cells and tissues, including microvascular endothelial cells, platelets, adipocytes, and the heart. CD36 promotes the podocyte injury in many kidney diseases including primary nephrotic syndrome, obesity-related glomerulopathy, and diabetic nephropathy. Moreover, genetic knockout or antagonist blockade of CD36 could alleviate kidney injury indicating that CD36 is a potential therapeutic target.

It works.
I was skeptical of this product because of how I intended to use it. Sometimes, especially in summer, moisture accumulates in the crease of my legs (where they attach to my body). And, as a result, I get severely chafed to the point of breaking skin and bleeding (or at least seeping serum). I figured this could just wash away in the moisture. But, it didn't. I did very meticulous cleaning and drying and then applied this ointment. At least twice daily. And in just a few days my skin was healing. I'd say less than a week and I was back to normal.

Great skin relief, but not Vegan.
Great product but it's not Vegan. As a nutritioist and vegetarian, I'm aware that true Vegans do not eat/use anything containing animals or animal by-producs. This contains beeswax which makes it vegetarian but not Vegan.
That is the only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5.
I bought this to use on 2 small patches of dry/scaly skin on my face. Everything else always says "itch relief" and contains strong chemicals which I prefer to not use, especially on my face. After just a couple weeks, the scaly skin is gone and the red is getting lighter every day. It smells very nice as well.

Not What I thought
This product came in a very small jar.
The product looks exactly like Vaseline.
This is supposed to help skin repair and itch. After a week it did Ineither!.
I'm sorry but that's how I found this product, not what I wanted.

Natrulo Skin Repair Cream
This is not "skin repair cream", this is a TINY jar of Vaseline petroleum jelly! I read back over the description page where I ordered it and it DOESN'T say that it ISN'T Vaseline, so it's my fault for expecting something different! Save your money and just buy a jar of Vaseline!!!!
