the Blackmagic Design Spares - ATEM Panel - Transition ME1 Module is the primary tactile control assembly for the first Mix Effects row on Blackmagic Advanced Panels (2 M/E, 4 M/E, and the standalone 1 M/E Advanced Panel).

This module is the "action center" of the panel. It houses the critical buttons for CUT, AUTO, and FTB (Fade to Black), along with the transition delegation buttons and the frame-rate display. Because these buttons are hit thousands of times during a live production, this module is one of the most common service items for high-use panels.

Core Responsibilities

  • Transition Execution: Manages the logic for the large CUT and AUTO buttons.

  • Layer Delegation: Allows the operator to select which layers are affected by the next transition (BKGD, Key 1, Key 2, Key 3, Key 4).

  • Rate Display: Features a dedicated LED or OLED numeric display that shows the transition duration in frames.

  • T-Bar Integration: Acts as the electrical hub for the fader handle, converting the physical position of the T-Bar into digital data for the switcher.

  • Tally Feedback: Manages the red (On-Air) and amber (Next Transition) button backlighting.

When to Replace the ME1 Module

  • Button Fatigue: The AUTO or CUT buttons feel "mushy," have lost their click, or require excessive force to trigger.

  • Display Failure: The frame-rate display is missing segments, is flickering, or has gone completely dark.

  • Logic Errors: The module won't "delegate" keys (e.g., you press KEY 1 and it won't stay selected), even though the buttons on other rows work fine.

  • Fader Dead Zones: The transition stutters or "jumps" to the end when using the manual T-Bar, suggesting a data processing fault on the module board.

  • Cosmetic/Liquid Damage: As the module sits directly under the T-Bar slot, it is the most common victim of liquid spills or dust ingress.

Technical Installation Note

Repair Level: 3 (Moderate).

  1. Underside Access: You must flip the panel (on a soft surface to protect the buttons) and remove the base plate screws. The ME1 module is usually held in by 4 to 6 screws.

  2. Ribbon Interconnect: It connects to the panel's main data bus via a wide ribbon cable. Caution: Always power down the panel before unplugging. Removing this module while the panel is "live" can cause a voltage spike that damages the display logic.

  3. T-Bar Migration: In some spares configurations, the T-Bar mechanism is separate from the button PCB. You may need to unscrew the fader assembly from the old module and mount it onto the new one.

  4. Calibration: If the new module includes a new fader sensor, you must perform a Fader Calibration via the ATEM Panel’s settings menu to ensure "Top of Travel" and "Bottom of Travel" are correctly mapped to 0% and 100%.

Diagnostic: ME1 Module vs. Main PCB

  • It is the ME1 Module if: Only the transition buttons on the first M/E row are failing, but the source buttons (cross-points) and the menu screen are responsive.

  • It is the Main PCB if: The entire panel is "locked up," or if both the ME1 and ME2 (on larger panels) transition blocks fail simultaneously.

Pro-Tip: The "Sticky Button" Quick-Fix

Before ordering a full replacement module, check if the clear NKK button cap is simply catching on the metal faceplate. Over time, the aluminum faceplate can shift slightly. Loosening the mounting screws of the module and re-centering it within the faceplate cutouts can often solve "stuck" buttons without needing new hardware.

Is your AUTO button failing to trigger the transition, or is the frame-rate display simply showing garbled numbers?

Knot their Omega
Format: Kindle
It took me a day to really get into the book, there is a lot happening in the beginning of the story. I wish there was more of a time frame because I felt like something’s happened quickly but they were farther away than I thought so that was a little confusing to me. I felt like there was so much happening but also not enough. As for the story itself I enjoyed it, it was different than other OV I’ve read. Bring the tissues, you will need them. They guys were great, I wish we saw more of Kai and Kenjis relationship. As for Nate…… IYKYK. I enjoyed this book, my first from this author and look forward to reading about Kamaris story. Book: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Spice: 🌶️.5/5

Has Potential, Poorly Executed
Format: Kindle
I really really wanted to enjoy this book and was looking forward to reading it. However there were just one too many convoluted plot points, sentences just did not flow nicely at times, and I was left with a lot of confusion on my end. I think it has the bones of being a great story but seems like it was rushed and I had to push myself to finish the last of the book and was left with an unsatisfying ending. It’s definitely different from other omegaverse novels I’ve read but not for good reasons. I really think it could be great but needs some serious tweaking and editing before I’d read it again.

Wow.
Format: Kindle
Okay I’m usually not one for stand-alone’s I’m an avid series reader but my goodness am I so happy I read this! This story was brilliant & so absolutely mesmerizing. I loved reading about each character and their struggles as well as what helped them to move forward. The ending definitely brought tears to my eyes so hard. I truly wasn’t expecting some of what happened in this story. There is about to be a spoiler I am going to reveal so please stop reading if you don’t want the spoiler !!!! ⚠️ ⛔️ ‼️ I loved that the author didn’t do what most authors do with irredeemable male characters. I truly was hoping that Nate Jr. would be apart of the pack after the way he treated Astrea bc he truly didn’t deserve it. Though I must say you did a wonderful job or redeeming him as a person. I cried my eyes out when he walked into the story. I was truly terrified he was going to be a bad guy to the end. However you truly did him such a justice by having him realize his faults & having him redeem himself in the most wonderful way. I’m so sad that he didn’t get to hear how much his brother loved him & forgave him before dying. But again you wrote that ending so beautifully & I just can’t express how much I loved this story & how you took a different route than most authors I have read have. You are a remarkable author Cinder Blaze & I thank you generously for creating such a masterpiece.

Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
I was pleasantly surprised by this omega verse book. This 1 definitely had a few new twists And I really enjoyed reading it. The main female character was a badass and awesome. She had 1 best friend I wish we could have seen a little bit more of their friendship in this book. Her relationship with the male characters was good not to contrived or super instantaneous. And we had some fun plot twists that I didn't expect. I wish we had more of a follow up on the situation with her family her background and her mother who was a wench. I would definitely recommend this book.
