This two-week, in-person workshop takes place on Tuesdays, April 21st - 28th, from 6PM to 9PM ET

  • Tuesday, April 21st, from 6PM to 9PM ET
  • Tuesday, April 28th, from 6PM to 9PM ET

Please Note: Registration for this workshop closes on April 7th, at 11:59pm Eastern Time.

About the Workshop:

Pop-ups feel dramatic and complex when you encounter them in a book, but they all are made around the same basic forms. In this class we will learn the different types of pop-up structures as you explore how to bring your own movable books to life. We will first cover box and triangle pop-ups, v-folds and parallel risers while creating a set of pop-up cards, then explore ways to combine different structures into more complex pop-up ideas. We will learn about the ways pop-ups are used, look at some popular books, and then complete the class by creating a larger pop-up of your own ideas and collaged material. Come away from this class with ideas for your own work or a foundation for teaching these exciting structures to kids (or adults) at any level.

Required Materials:

  • Optional collage materials for session 2

All other materials will be provided by the Center for Book Arts at no additional cost.

Sweetest book!
Format: Hardcover
I think this is the cutest little book and it makes a perfect gift for dads! Especially first time dads or dads that are having a first time daughter. Great for a gift for Father’s Day, gender reveal, or just to gift dad in general! It’s a sweet story to read and dad and daughter will both love it!
