The Accent Chair Roumier draws from the neoclassical elegance of an 18th-century French armchair in The Met’s collection.

Upholstered in Palmer beige and set on black legs with subtle brass details, this piece offers a modern interpretation of a historic design. Its understated form brings a touch of the 18th century into contemporary interiors.

Historic Reference

The design is inspired by a French armchair from 1788, part of a suite of 16 created by master chairmaker Georges Jacob (1739–1814) for Louis XVI’s gaming room at Saint-Cloud. The Roumier chair reflects Jacob’s refined craftsmanship and the timeless appeal of his neoclassical style.
