The blanket is constructed from high-temperature resistant materials, including an outer layer made from basalt volcanic rock fabric.

- Specifically sized to fit the TIAL MV-S 38mm wastegate (and similar sized units like the Garrett 40/Turbosmart 40).
- Outer layer is made from basalt volcanic rock fabric, rated to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit direct heat and 2500 degrees Fahrenheit radiant heat.
- Internally insulated with high-temperature calcium magnesium silicate wool (rated 2300 degrees Fahrenheit peak) and a stainless steel mesh for durability.
- Minimizes heat transfer to the wastegate diaphragm, stabilizing boost control.
- Includes stainless steel spring and wire for a secure fitment.
Notes
- Wastegate shields are not designed to be removed after the first heat cycle, as the fibers lose their initial flexibility after exposure to extreme heat.
- Basalt volcanic rock is one of the toughest and most heat-resistant materials available.
