That International Rag / Knockout Drops [78 rpm]Hailed by the Washington Post as the "premier American ragtime ensemble," the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra has been delighting audiences across the country since 2010 with crisp, exuberant performances that recreate the syncopated music heard in dance halls and theaters in the opening decades of the 20th century. Hailed by the Washington Post as the "premier American ragtime ensemble," the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra has been delighting audiences across the country since 2010 with crisp, exuberant performances that recreate the syncopated music heard in dance halls and theaters in the opening decades of the 20th century. Under the direction of Andrew Greene, the PRSO performs from original period arrangements, often with period instruments to capture an authentic "ragtime era" sound.

The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra has recorded three CDs for Rivermont, but this is the orchestra's first 78 rpm record. The two selections have been especially recorded for this disc, and they are not available elsewhere. Irving Berlin's humorous "That International Rag" features a superb vocal from William Edwards, and "Knockout Drops" by F. Henri Klickmann is a snappy rag with novelty trombone effects. Both selections are exemplars of the best orchestral ragtime, played with precision and panache, and well worth repeated listenings.

The audiophile quality of the recording is a marvel in itself; this record would make an excellent demonstration disc for any high-end system with a turntable capable of playing a stereo, microgroove 78 rpm record.

Both sides were recorded in Arnold, Maryland in February 2017.

Limited edition pressing of 549 copies.

Note: This is a stereo, microgroove, 10-inch vinyl record meant to be played at 78 RPM. It is compatible with all modern turntables (post-1950s) fitted with a stereo cartridge and capable of spinning at 78 RPM. For best results, we strongly recommend a cartridge capable of tracking at 3-4 grams. Rugged cartridges designed for DJ use (like the Stanton 500, Shure M44-7, or Ortofon VNL) work better than delicate, high-end "audiophile" cartridges. Use an ordinary LP stylus; no special stylus is required. This record should NOT be played on vintage "wind-up" machines with steel needles. For your convenience, a complimentary MP3 download of this record will be provided upon checkout.

Nice to have a wider shoe! Nice color and seems to be good quality so far!
The fit ran a little bit small compared to Nike brand. Size chart at a shoe store I felt he needed a 1.5 (with room to grow still), ended up ordering a 2.5 which may have been a tiny big but works for his feet to grow. Love that it's wider. Cute color

Cute, durable kids' shoe at a great value
Size: 11.5 Big Kid, Color: Navy/Citron
These worked out great for our 5 year old with flat feet - he absolutely loves them, says they are very comfortable and help him "run FAST!" The colors look super cute, I'm very pleased with the durability over several months (particularly, the hook & loop closure has held up better than other brands we've tried...), and they seem to offer great support while not being too heavy. Highly recommend, and will buy again.

Durable Shoes
Size: 3.5 Little Kid, Color: Blue/Black
Most brands have scuffed toe pads or poor quality Velcro. My boys go through 3-4 pairs of shoes a year. Our family loves saucony for the quality, comfort and durability.

Great shoes
Great shoes, but definitely designed for narrow feet! if your child has wide feet,i recommend choosing a different style as these run very, very narrow.

Great colors!! Love the soles are not white. Good price
Size: 10.5 Big Kid, Color: Navy/Citron
Held up better than expected. So far only keens had held up to my son's play. Update-- after 2 months of wear the sole began to peel off/separate at the front of toe of shoe where that " upwards tab" is located.
