This activity is so popular that some of the companies send out an underling to sit and reserve a coveted spot until the evening when the rest of the staff can join him. Fun fact: The cherry trees in Washington DC were donated by the Mayor of Tokyo in 1912 and represent the friendship between Japan and the U.S.
