As a hugely influential creative force in the world of rock music, Adam Jones and the band Tool's legacy as an innovative musical act cannot be denied. This legacy is commemorated today by the Gibson Custom Shop with the Adam Jones 1979V2 Les Paul Custom. A truly unique instrument from a truly unique player, this Les Paul Custom was crafted in reference to a Silverburst 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom – a distinguished instrument of choice for Jones. The original Silverburst Les Paul Custom Jones plays became the blueprint for this masterful electric guitar. With a body constructed from a solid mahogany with a two-piece maple top, an ebony fingerboard, and a three-piece maple neck in a "Medium C" profile replicated from the guitarist's personal model, this Les Paul has all the form Jones worked into his original. A unique pickup configuration lands on this Les Paul Custom with a reverse-mounted Custombucker pickup in the neck position and a custom-wound Seymour Duncan DDJ in the bridge position. This custom creation is topped off with an expertly aged Gibson Murphy Lab Silverburst finish, custom artwork on the back of the headstock, and a signature and model number from Jones himself.
