The result is a sonically rich, bright, yet balanced "broken in" snap that pairs finely with the darker sounding mahogany back and sides. Speaking of which,

Fresh in from the Martin Custom Shop in Nazareth, Pennsylvania is this stunning D-14 featuring quilted mahogany back and sides.

The D-14 features a VTS Sitka spruce top. VTS stands for "Vintage Tone System", essentially the piece of wood is thermochemically treated for an expedited aging process. The result is a sonically rich, bright, yet balanced "broken in" snap that pairs finely with the darker sounding mahogany back and sides. Speaking of which, the quilted figuring of this cut of wood is stunning.

To finish off this Dreadnought, we opted for Sitka spruce scalloped bracing, East Indian rosewood binding, ebony fingerboard, and modern adhesive for the neck. The neck profile is a modified low oval, so it's super comfortable to play whether you're playing big cowboy chords or going up for some leads. The guitar is finished with a gloss body, satin neck, and polished head plate.
