The sole source for the 'Introduction et Rondeau brillant pour le Pianoforte avec accomp. d'Orchestre compose par Ferd: Ries / 1835,' Ries's autograph, presents few intractable problems for the editor although there are numerous inconsistencies in the placement of dynamic markings and articulations that benefit from careful editorial intervention. These are indicated by the use of brackets and dotted slurs. Obvious wrong notes have been corrected without comment. Ries's pedal markings have been left as they appear in the original.
