The pattern combines traditional motifs such as Takeda hishi sashi, combined with kaki no hana (persimmon flower), ga sashi (moth motifs), hana jji (floral cross), kome no hana (rice flower), and soroban (abacus) motifs. This pot holder features beautiful sashiko stitching on one side, worked on vintage Japanese textile. The pattern combines traditional motifs such as Takeda hishi-sashi, combined with kaki no hana (persimmon flower), ga-sashi (moth motifs), hana-jūji (floral cross), kome no hana (rice flower), and soroban (abacus) motifs. This is a slightly larger version compared to the other pot holders.
The reverse side is finished in a boro style, made from carefully arranged vintage fabric remnants, stitched together with expressive, random sashiko work. Each piece is carefully handmade by ITOTSUZURI, reflecting a thoughtful and enduring approach to making.
A small loop allows for easy hanging. It can be used as a practical pot holder, or placed beneath a teapot or dish as part of a table setting. It also makes a quiet, decorative presence when hung in the kitchen.
