A reprint of a classic German picture book, first published in 1924. Koch-Gotha fell foul of the authorities during World War II; his Berlin apartment was raided and documents and original artwork destroyed. This post-War edition, issued by the Publishing House for Antifascist Literature and Children's Books, contains redrawn images created from the originals by Kurt Wasser.
