A carport is an effective way to provide additional protection for households who own multiple vehicles. The self-supporting structure of the cantilever adds to its appeal, offering an unobstructed design that maximises outdoor space.
The cantilever roof is glazed with a lightweight, 2.4mm thick translucent panel, allowing natural light to filter through while keeping glare to a minimal. The structural beams are lightweight yet durable, providing easy installation as well as longevity against poor weather conditions.
As well as the great protection from the elements, the cantilever also allows a convenient place to charge electric vehicles, as well as keeping you dry when exiting your vehicle - especially during a downpour!
There are a number of things to consider when considering whether a cantilever carport is suitable for your home. Firstly, you need to make sure that the wall the carport is to be fixed into is strong enough to take the weight. If you are in any doubt, please contact a builder. Timber or steel-clad walls are not suitable unless you can fix into a structural beam inside the cladding.
If you live in a bungalow the eaves height may not be sufficient to allow the beams to be fitted unless you use one of our Bungalow Brackets. Bungalow Brackets spread the load across a bigger depth allowing you to fit the beams to the top of the wall.
Lastly, please ensure that the distance between your property and any adjoining house is wide enough for a cantilever carport to fit. We supply two projection sizes of cantilever beams 940mm and 2440mm as well as various lengths.
