From 2002 to 2007, the West End Jazz Band produced and released seven critically-acclaimed full-length CDs on its own Legacy 2K label. The discs quickly garnered rave reviews around the globe from fans of 1920s and '30s jazz and "hot dance" music for their sparkling arrangements, superb musicianship, crisp sound quality, and fresh repertoire, reviving excellent but seldom-heard songs from the era. The lineup in these years included the cream of Chicago-area traditional jazz musicians:  Mike Bezin (leader, cornet, and arrangements), Leah Bezin (banjo and guitar), Frank Gualtieri (trombone), John Otto (reeds), Wayne Jones or Mike Albiniak (drums), and Mike Walbridge (tuba). The discs are now out-of-print collector's items, and when used copies turn up, they often show considerable signs of use -- a testament to their enduring popularity!
