A very nice example of a rolled-lip bouquet vase designed by Heinrich-Maria Müller for SAWA-KERAMIK and decorated with his Napoli décor. Produced entirely by hand, it is marked by hand on the base with the model and size numbers.

SAWA-KERAMIK was the label under which Sawa-Franz Schwaderlapp GmbH produced fine, artisanal, “klinker”-style ceramics beginning in 1951. Franz Schwaderlapp had founded his company as an abrasives factory in Ransbach-Baumbach in central western Germany in 1904, but he soon began producing unglazed flower containers at an associated pottery works. The program had an early success with a self-watering Jardiniere; its extension to high-end ornamental ceramics would happen only with the end of WWII.

Schwaderlapp's uncle, Heinrich-Maria Müller, joined his nephew's firm in 1951 as head designer in its newly established art department. He was responsible for the design of all forms and decorations at SAWA until he retired from the company in 1965. Many of the pots that were produced during this period were hand-turned and decorated by Müller himself.

SAWA offered three basic décor varieties, often noted with a single letter on the bottom of the object:

  • 'K' for kerbschnitt (notch-cut): the manual application of grooves in unbaked clay,
  • 'P' for plastischer kerbschnitt (plastic notch-cut): the application of cut-in designs using figural stamps, and
  • 'S' for sigilata (sealed): the application and burnishing, to a very high sheen, of a thin layer of slip as a top coat.

Often these methods were very labor-intensive and expensive to implement. The quality of execution was consistently high.

It can be noted here that klinker pottery takes its name from a particular sort of partially-vitrified brick, commonly referred to as “klinker” or “clinker,”—so-called because of the metallic sound produced when klinker bricks are struck together. Like its namesake brick, klinker pottery is hard-fired at unusually high temperatures. Typically hand-thrown, it is also often decorated or burnished by hand—and only partially colored, if at all, using special dyes. These production methods tend to make klinker items very water-resistant, and in most cases, waterproof, even without interior glazing. (Incidentally, being denser than normal bricks, klinkers provide relatively poor insulation. On the other hand, their hard surfaces make them frost-resistant, so they are well-suited for use in facades and as pavers. Early klinkers were simply the accidental byproducts of brickmaking.)

Sawa-Franz Schwaderlapp GmbH was family-owned until 1992. It appears to have been transferred to another owner of the same name, as one Heinrich Schwaderlapp was appointed liquidator of the company in 2000. It went out of business in 2004.

HEINRICH-MARIA MÜLLER (1892-1974) engaged in multiple professions before WWII, trying his hands at various artistic endeavors and even going to sea for a time. Shortly after the war, he took up work as a furniture salesman, but, in 1951, he settled at his nephew's firm, Sawa-Franz Schwaderlapp GmbH in Ransbach-Baumbach in central western Germany. There he was made head designer of the newly established art ceramics department, producing decorative pottery for the home under the name SAWA-KERAMIK. Müller designed all shapes and décors, modeled templates, and executed numerous pieces entirely by himself. Despite a wide variety of decorative influences, which were generally characterized by elaborate and carefully executed designs and ranged from animal representations of the Far East to abstract surface ornament, he managed to give all of his work a characteristic appearance. He ultimately retired from the company in 1965 at the age of 73, He died nine years later in 1974.

The Fast & the Curious- Potty Drift
Size: 5T-6T, Unit Count: 60
Who knew toddler potty training required both a PhD in fluid dynamics and Jedi mind tricks? These Pull-Ups prove the science part: leak-proof, absorbent, and surprisingly soft. The toddler-psychology part? That’s a battle of wills. Our little one was a die-hard fan of Huggies diapers—too loyal, in fact. We begged, we bribed, we pleaded: “Please, let’s move on!” Resistance was fierce. So we went stealth mode, sneaking Pull-Ups on at night like parents on a covert mission. Credit to mom—she cracked the code and finally got the kid interested in the toilet. Suddenly, the “potty rush” moments became less of a flood and more of a sprint. Diapers were too slow to peel off; Pull-Ups gave our little sprinter the speed boost they needed. They’re soft, rash-free, and practically leak-proof (unlike that other brand we don’t speak of). Pro tip: size up for easier toddler self-removal. The result? A drier, happier kid, less laundry for us, and the toilet finally earning MVP status. If you’re ready for your toddler to graduate from Diaper University, this is the diploma. Bonus: you’ll save money too.

Mom of 3 recommend!
Size: 5T-6T, Unit Count: 14
I'm using these again for the 3rd time and they're great as always. My 3rd is still having some issues at night time with bed wetting, and as they get older the bigger the mess, so these truly hold up to a full bladder. And they don't smell by morning like some diaper brands. I'm usually against pull ups, but these are great for up and down ease of use and that added protection when it comes to potty training. I love the bigger size inclusion for larger children which we struggle with for comfort compared to other brands.

Comfort and affordable
Size: Size 5, Unit Count: 56
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolute Game Changer for Active Toddlers! If you have a little one who treats diaper changes like a wrestling match, you need the Pampers Cruisers 360. We switched a few months ago, and I honestly can’t imagine going back to traditional taped diapers. Here is why they are a staple in our household: * The "Gap-Free" Fit: The 360-degree stretchy waistband is genius. It fits snugly around the tummy and back, which has completely eliminated those dreaded "blowouts" during playtime or naps. * Easy On, Easy Off: Putting these on is as simple as pulling up a pair of pants. When it’s time for a change, you just tear the Easy-Tear Sides, roll it up, and use the built-in disposal tape. It makes mid-runway-escape changes actually possible. * Skin Friendly: My toddler has somewhat sensitive skin, but we’ve had zero issues with rashes. They are incredibly soft—almost like real underwear—and breathe really well. * Serious Absorbency: Even with a heavy wetter, these hold up overnight without leaks. The Dual Leak-Guard Barriers around the legs are the unsung heroes here. Bottom line: They are perfect for the "crawler-to-walker" transition. They stay in place no matter how much climbing or sprinting is happening. Definitely worth every penny for the peace of mind (and the saved outfits)!

These Pampers diapers are amazing! The material is very soft and comfortable for my baby. They have great absorbency and can last through the night without any leaks. I also noticed no rashes or irritation, which is very important to me. The fit is perfect and easy to put on. Definitely one of the best diapers I’ve used. Highly recommended!

Mom of 6 approved
Size: Size 3, Unit Count: 78
I'm a mom of 6 and these are the best diapers. No problems. Extremely soft and comfy. Easiest diaper to get on a toddler doing the alligator roll. I put my hands through the leg holes and grab their feet to pull them through for easiest pull on. No problems with blow outs. I love the new tear off feature, so no issue with getting them off. I get them on subscription on Amazon to save money and get the big pack.
