Discover the rich culinary heritage of Gullah Geechee cuisine with this stunning cookbook. Featuring 240 pages of traditional and modern recipes, this book invites you to explore the flavors of the coastal South. From classic dishes like Hot Buttermilk Biscuits and Sweet Potato Pie to unique offerings such as Salmon Cakes on Pepper Rice and Gullah Fish Stew, this cookbook is a testament to the cultural legacy of the descendants of enslaved Africans who skillfully crafted dishes that reflect their history and environment.Written by Matthew Raiford, a descendant of a Gullah Geechee family, this collection is more than a cookbook; it's a heartfelt homage to the generations who contributed to this vibrant culinary tradition. The book encapsulates the essence of the Gullah Geechee culture, which beautifully intertwines African heritage and Southern ingredients, making it a must-have for anyone passionate about American cuisine.
Raiford's journey took a pivotal turn when he inherited his family farm, originally bought by his great-great-great grandfather in 1874. With recipes that honor this legacy yet embrace contemporary techniques, this cookbook is perfect for both seasoned chefs and home cooks looking to expand their culinary repertoire.

Description:
From Hot Buttermilk Biscuits and Sweet Potato Pie to Salmon Cakes on Pepper Rice and Gullah Fish Stew, Gullah Geechee food is an essential cuisine of American history. It is the culinary representation of the ocean, rivers, and rich fertile loam in and around the coastal South. From the Carolinas to Georgia and Florida, this is where descendants of enslaved Africans came together to make extraordinary food, speaking the African Creole language called Gullah Geechee.
In this groundbreaking and beautiful cookbook, Matthew Raiford pays homage to this cuisine that nurtured his family for seven generations. In 2010, Raiford's Nana handed over the deed to the family farm to him and his sister, and Raiford rose to the occasion, nurturing the farm that his great-great-great grandfather, a freed slave, purchased in 1874. In this collection of heritage and updated recipes, he traces a history of community and family brought together by food.

Great little bag full of sunscreen for my grandson. Glad we had it to take it everywhere with us. A little pricey but he needs it so instead of taking bunches of bottles we had this.

Sunscreen is great, I would t recommend the chapstick
Style: Original
Sun Bum is hands down the best sunscreen I’ve ever used. It smells incredible, like a tropical vacation with that perfect coconut scent. It goes on smoothly, doesn’t leave you feeling sticky or greasy, and actually works! As long as I reapply every few hours, I don’t get burned, which is more than I can say for most other sunscreens I’ve tried.
The face stick is good, goes on easily, but is a little greasy feeling.
I do not like the chapstick, I can’t keep the taste of it out of my mouth and I feel like you have to put it on again and again.
