Hand-turning is a traditional woodworking technique that involves rotating a piece of wood on a lathe while shaping it with handheld cutting tools. This process is used to create a variety of furniture parts, such as table legs, chair spindles, and, in our case, lamp bases. 😊 It is a skilled process that requires a lot of practice and patience to master. However, it can produce beautiful and unique furniture parts that are difficult to replicate with modern manufacturing techniques. As with everything handmade, there will be some imperfections that make each piece unique and original.

Thereafter, every piece is sanded and painted, often multiple times, in a process that requires a lot of patience and is extremely time-consuming. We use French Chic chalk paint to achieve that rich and creamy look.
