about the artist:
Charles E. Reynolds (1909-2001) was an Oregon regionalist painter known for his plein air paintings. a self-taught artist, Reynolds began painting in the late 1940s and was greatly influenced by Cezanne. he was associated with the Attic Studio for many of his 50 years of painting in Portland and was painting competently up until he passed in 2001.
