Following the release of their acclaimed debut 'One for All' in 1991, original leader MC Grand Puba and DJ Alamo left the group which led to MCs Sadat X and Lord Jamar recruiting DJ Sincere to fill the void. As a result, they opted for a new sound and style distinct from "new jack swing" and other popular trends. Lyrically, the group adhered to the teachings of the Nation of Gods and Earths, producing fierce, militant rhymes. The album spawned two charting singles: "Punks Jump Up to Get Beat Down" and "Love Me or Leave Me Alone."
