Sergeants are the first rank above Corporal, these soldiers are experienced in their field of skill and have been targeted for senior leadership capabilities.  These soldiers have had the training and are in the more seasoned in the field of leadership.  Usually they are second in command of a platoon of soldiers.

Staff Sergeants are usually in a senior role combining human and resource management in administrative or logistics roles.  These leaders have had the training and are in the more seasoned in the field of leadership and know their fields in a maximum capacity.
