The grain runs roughly parallel to the long axis of the block and has sweeping curves along several of the faces. This piece has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. The "wet" photos give you a preview of the finished color of the Texas Ebony. We use alcohol to dampen the wood without affecting its dryness. This block does have several cracks as shown in the photos. These are common in Texas Ebony. We recommend treating those cracks with thin CA glue prior to turning. See close-up photos. |

Love this! Sturdy and elegant
I have a small selection of jewelry pieces I wear but I needed something that would keep them all together in one place. This jewelry box is fantastic! And It fits two pairs of sunglasses on the bottom compartment. I like that there’s a little tab to help pull up the top part. It was actually a bit bigger than expected which is a good thing. And still small enough for traveling. The necklace tabs are sturdy and hold them in place. I’m very satisfied with my purchase.
