John Riddy's photographs are distinguished by a combination of poetic delicacy and formal precision which has been evident since his earliest pictures made in London in the late 1980s. Working consistently in series, Riddy has created collective studies of urban architecture and rural landscapes in countries as disparate as Japan, Italy, South Africa and the United States, in every case exploiting the capacity for still images to render the everyday both factual and transcendent. The starting point for much of his work has been the relationship between photography and the history of art and architecture, such as John Ruskin's autobiography, Hokusai's woodblock prints and Gustave Le Gray's photographs.
This book presents all of Riddy's major series and, like a volume of collected poems, each image is distinct and of itself yet linked to its counterparts by technical skill and a finely tuned sensibility. The sequence of images builds progressively towards a final series of magisterial works that reveals Riddy's subtle use of color, light and darkness to express his complex comprehension of the world.

Hefty but good quality!

It's hefty! I bought this for my 70lb Dutch Sheperd/Malinois mix because she, as the breeds are, is extremely active and loves to play tug of war. I read the reviews and knew the bone was noted to be heavy but bought it anyway. It was a little bulky for her at first and she let it lie for a couple of months but was picking it up today. I will get use out it with her as she continues to grow but definitely not for smaller dogs. It's still a good, sturdy product!

Have bought a few of these over the last handful of years

Best toy outside of Ghonuts for heavy chewers. Even outlasts the most durable Kongs. I'd say we get about four months before our dog starts really making a dent in it and the size of the pieces he pulls off start to become larger and I should probably replace it after about six months. It's cheap enough that replacing it that often is fine.
*Important note* using squishy toys for heavy chewers is really important. They can break their teeth on hard toys like Nyla bones and things like antlers can break and cut them and damage their digestive system if they swallow the shards. It sucks because my dog loved Nyla bones and would chew off an inch a day, but I couldn't risk his teeth like that.

Finally - a tug toy my dog hasn’t destroyed!

This completely exceeded my expectations! My dog is roughly a year old, about 110-115lbs and a TOUGH chewer. He loved tugs toys but none of them last more than 10 minutes with him. I decided to try this because of the other reviews and price but wasn’t expecting it to last long. He’s had it almost a week and it’s still completely intact. It’s definitely heavy so it might not be best for smaller dogs but if you have a big dog/heavy chewer definitely give this a shot!

Indestructible so far
Color: Red, Color: Red
My toy destroyer has had this for almost two months now and it hasn’t taken any damage. It is big and heavy and solid. It became one of his favorites immediately and goes in and out of the house and even to bed with him.
Now if only we could find a stuffy that he can’t destroy.
