Diamonds, Please is a graceful sport-weight shawl featuring relaxing stockinette and garter stitch, an optional picot edging, and a sprinkling of diamonds.

This shawl is knitted from the top down, beginning with a stockinette-stitch triangle. Slip-stitch columns grow into lace diamonds that dance along the bottom edge of the shawl.  Fully written instructions are provided, along with optional charts.

Throughout the design, sections of the lace alternate with sections of bias stockinette and garter stitch, making for an engaging knit. Shaped like a rectangle with pointed ends, the finished piece is easy to wear and eye-catching, rich with interesting diagonals and textures. 

For best results when working with hand dyed yarns we strongly suggest alternating skeins of the same color throughout your project.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Yummy 3-Ply by Miss Babs (100% Merino Wool; 150g/335yds): 2 Skeins. 

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Road to China Light by Fibre Co. (65% Alpaca / 15% Silk / 10% Cashmere goat, /10% Camel; 50g/159 yds): 5 Skeins.  

ALTERNATE YARN: Caprino by Malabrigo (80% Super Fine Merino Wool / 20% Cashmere: 50g/159yds): 5 Skeins.  Luxurious cashmere adds delightful squishy softness to the merino wool.

ALTERNATE YARN: Arroyo by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/335yds): 2 Skeins.  South American Superwash Merino Wool kettle-dyed in small batches to create subtle to highly variegated yarns.  

ALTERNATE YARN: O-Wash Sport by O-Wool (100% Washable Certified Organic Merino Wool; 100g/304 yds): 2 Skeins + 1 MINI Skein (60 yds).  Gentle processing with environmentally friendly procedures to prevent felting and create beautiful solid colorways.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 66" wingspan x 26" wide
YARDAGE: approximately 650 yds of sport weight yarn.  

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate - slipped stitches

NEEDLES: Size US 6 / 4mm 32" circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
OTHER TOOLS: 20 Stitch markers (2 in contrasting color), Tapestry needle, & Pins for blocking
GAUGE: 17 sts x 26 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch.  Gauge is not crucial for this project, but will affect yardage and finished size if different from above.
