Fender's American-made American Professional Classic series of instruments welcomes a time-tested classic with the Mustang Bass's invigorating takes on classic Fender specs. Whatever you find compelling about your Fender basses, the American Professional Classic lineup has something for you. The American Professional Classic Mustang Bass kicks this all off with its alder body in a double-cutaway, offset Mustang shape. This body is treated to a high-gloss finish with a Faded Dakota Red color that bridges a vintage-style Fender look.
At this juncture, the Fender American Professional Classic Mustang Bass introduces a satin-finished maple neck in a Modern "C" profile that produces a familiar feel in hand to other modern Fender series necks. The neck then fills out to a fingerboard bearing 19 Medium Jumbo frets that feel both precise and spacious – a classic Fender feature.
Sonically, this Fender American Professional Classic entry drops in a Coastline Mustang Bass split-coil single-coil pickup. The pickup, confidently exhibiting a concise and punchy bass tone with all the playability it's known for, works seamlessly into any existing rig. Onboard, Fender's Greasebucket tone circuit allows for signal clarity and tonal preservation even when volume and tone controls are adjusted.
Alongside its pickup, the American Professional Classic Mustang Bass is backed up by a sturdy hardware setup. This American Professional Classic features a four-saddle Mustang Bass strings-through-body bridge that grounds strings stably alongside vintage-style "Lollipop" tuning machines and a synthetic bone nut land at the scale's opposite end. This Mustang Bass comes with a Fender deluxe gig bag included.
