Serving as a quality gateway into the AZ series, the Ibanez AZ42P1BK in Black shines with its playability and design choices, balancing accessibility with performance.
The highly contoured, top bound American basswood body features a deep waist contour with different radii on each body edge curve, offering comfort in either the standing or sitting positions. A easy to play oval C roasted maple neck is joined to the body by 4-bolts. Playing access is further improved with the addition of the Super All Access Neck Joint. The 25.5-inch scale length neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard, Mother of Pearl dot inlays, luminescent side dots, and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets. A 12-inch radius offers a smooth playing experience while bending or fretting complex chords.
Sonically, the body is loaded with 2 Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions. With Alnico V magnets, these pickups were chosen to deliver clarity with even tone through the dirtiest or cleanest amplifiers. With the dyna-MIX10 switching system with Alter Switch onboard, you can switch between 10 different pickup combinations.
