Explore the transformative artistry of Kata Legrady, a visionary Hungarian artist born in 1974. This compelling book, published in 2014 by Skira Editore, showcases Legrady’s unique ability to turn mundane objects into thought-provoking pieces. The collection features iconic works from her exhibitions at the Mudima Foundation, including the renowned series 'Guns and Candies' from 2008 and 'Gasmasks' from 2009. Legrady's art challenges perceptions, presenting items traditionally linked to violence – such as artillery shells and weapons – as mediums of artistic expression. Each piece invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with objects of childhood and conflict. From 'Little Boy' to 'Government Balançoir' and her whimsical Disney series, the works offer a simplified, yet profound aesthetic that ignites the viewer's imagination. Perfect for art enthusiasts and collectors, this book serves as both a visual feast and a critical commentary on contemporary society. Dive into the world of Kata Legrady, where art becomes a catalyst for dialogue and reflection, and witness how everyday items can transcend their original purpose. This volume is a must-have for anyone interested in modern art and the exploration of themes including innocence and mortality. Discover the artistic journey of a unique talent and embrace the dialogues her work evokes through simplicity and resonance.Shipping Notes

The hidden secret is a hit!
Format: Hardcover
My 6 year old has autism and his hyper fixation is anything space related and comparing sizes of everything in it from molecules to galaxies. So needless to say finding this book hit every one of his interests and he’s hooked. Not only is the book cute and clever, the hidden secret at the end of the book sent him into a fit of giggles while searching for everything with his black light pen. This is the only book he constantly goes back to.

Loved this book!
Format: Hardcover
I have a grandson (5yrs old) who loves "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly" books, and is obsessed with black holes as well. He asked santa for a black hole for Christmas and his mom told me, "good luck with that", so when I found this, it was perfect! He absolutely loved it and it's a cute book to read.

2nd book if you have black light
Format: Hardcover
The book is ok, with the same plot as "there was an old lady who swallowed a fly" but there is a second book that goes back to front if you have a blacklight. Some of the pages were not printed well with the invisible ink but I really liked that second book better, as it explains the terminology like quarks and atoms. It is a fun book but having a black light is a must.
