I wanted to create the Christchurch map for years, but it was hard to know what new buildings were on some main streets. I use Google Maps with street view to make the drawings, but many parts were last updated in 2018 or earlier, so I decided to find pictures of the projects myself. For example, I found the project for the New Cathedral—it looks amazing—so I decided to add it as the star of the map. Same with the stadium, where I found pictures of the finished project. I did this drawing during the winter of 2025. It took me about 200 hours from start to finish, but I'm very proud of the final result. I like walking around the city now, feeling like I'm inside my drawing! I hope you like it as much as I like it!"
