Obesity is a serious condition involving excess fat accumulation in the body, which could impose major health risks. Gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and other weight loss surgeries – collectively labeled as bariatric surgery – involve making changes to the digestive system to help patients lose weight. These surgeries are performed when diet and exercise have failed to make patients lose weight and/or when they have serious health complications because of the extra weight. While bariatric surgery breaks the vicious weight-gain cycle and achieves long term weight loss, it does lead to nutritional deficiencies which result from the patients’ rapid weight loss. The American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery recommends many vitamins and minerals for these patients, but traditional multivitamins rarely meet those recommendations. SleeVit is specifically formulated to respond to the nutritional needs of bariatric surgery patients, and in addition contains high doses of biotin, vitamin B5 and selenium, all of which help limit hair loss, which is another symptom of bariatric surgery.
