UroTuning is pleased to present South Bend / DXD clutches for your Mk8 GTi and Golf R 2.0T TSi. DXD clutches are developed and tested across many different friction products, pressure plate loads and flywheel designs with one goal in mind, to create clutch systems not only with perfect balance and symmetry but also to perfectly complement engine modifications without compromise in reliability, drivability or enjoyment.

The success of the development efforts has produced a performance clutch product line of the highest quality and performance available for Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen vehicles, DXD Racing clutches.

Each clutch system is specially matched to specific driving styles, uses and power levels to insure the needs of each client are accomplished. Often times, a compromise between drivability and pedal feel must be made to achieve power handling. If you are drag racing you will have different requirements for clutch operation than someone who wishes to participate in daily spirited driving or endurance racing. One clutch certainly does not fit all and we have done the homework for you to recommend a clutch system that meets your specific goals.

Each DXD Racing clutch is offered in either a Daily, Endurance or Drag configuration to accomplish the power handling you need.

The Classes

Daily
The Daily configuration is focused around an OEM pedal feel and initial engagement characteristics. This is the clutch that won"t give you a significantly stronger left leg but will provide many thousands of miles of ease of use and operation with the ability to transfer different Stages of engine performance to the tires. The quick engagement of most aftermarket clutches or the "grab is greatly reduced and in most cases completely eliminated to allow for smooth clutch release and easy initial acceleration.

Endurance
The Endurance configuration focuses on reduced transmission wear and perfect transitions from gear to gear. Kevlar and other more exotic materials are used to hold the power for many hours of abuse and torsion springs are used to damper between the engine and gearbox. Pedal feel is typically only slightly more rigid and initial engagement is certainly manageable resulting in a driveline component that quite handily eliminates any concerns from the Drivers and Crew Chief.

Drag
In no other form of racing are tenths and hundredths of a second more important nor is a vehicles driveline more abused in such a short period of time. It is with this understanding that DXD Racing has developed a line of clutches specific to the needs of this ever demanding sport. Pedal travel is reduced allowing for quicker launches off the tree and initial engagement is as rapid as possible getting all of the power to the ground instantaneously. Use of puck style discs and SFI approved Race Covers provide plenty of power handling capability and aids in the perfect pass everytime.

"Drag" clutches are puck style discs, picture below.

The Stages

Stage II
The DXD Racing Stage 2 Clutch Upgrade is perfect for those who modified their engines to Unitronic Stage 2 and Stage 2+ power levels. Offered in specific configurations of Daily, Endurance or Drag, the DXD Stage 2 is perfectly matched to your driving style and your specific use. Each Stage 2 Clutch is engineered to specifically support engine modification with increased clamp load and different material choices across the individual Stage 2 configurations. Each configuration includes all of the benefits of a DXD Racing Stage 1 Clutch Upgrade but also includes additional benefits specific to each.

Stage II Daily

This Heavy Duty Pressure Plate has an increased clamp load with little or no increase in pedal pressure. The Organic disc material has a high metal content that increases the co-efficient of friction by two times over a stock lining and increases rotational strength up to a 12,000 RPM burst point. This clutch system maintains a stock feel while offering strength and durability. Recommended usage is daily, street and moderate race.

Stage II Endurance

This clutch system is designed for the racing climate. The pressure plate is precision balanced for vibration free operation at high RPM. The pressure plate fulcrum is altered for a positive disengagement and a quick shift. The disc is engineered with a Dual Damped design to provide accurate control when accelerating through corners. The friction material is a hybrid using a full face Feramic (Sintered Iron) lining on the flywheel side and a high metal content Organic lining on the pressure plate side. Engagement is positive yet buffered due to the high graphite content unique to Feramic facings. Recommended uses are daily and street with an emphasis on Rally and Endurance racing.

Race Engineered Pressure Plates (SS) used in Stage III and IV clutch kits

These performance clutches deliver more transmittable torque and stability, longer life and superior thermal resistance. They also deliver noticeably better dynamics through higher clamp load when driving the vehicle to its limits.

Stage III Daily

This clutch package is designed for high HP vehicles desiring a start performance similar to O.E. The pressure plate is Race Engineered (SS) and SFI approved with significant load increase over stage 1 or 2 pressure plates (+600-800 lbs.). Expect a pedal effort increase of 20%-25%. Discs are assembled with heat-treated wear resistant hubs; drive plates and springs for high load transfer and dependable operation. The sprung centers on the disc, in conjunction with the marcel fin between the linings, create a dual dampening effect that simulates O.E. start performance. A Performance Organic friction material with a high metal content increases torque and RPM capability and maintains low operating temperatures reducing wear and glazing. Recommended usages are daily, spirited street and occasional track.

Stage III Endurance

This kit uses the same Race Engineered SFI approved pressure plate as the Stage 3 Daily upgrade. The disc is designed for the special needs of a vehicle with circuit racing in mind. Kevlar friction material is used for its unique static to dynamic ratios of friction co-efficients at high energy levels. This translates to a perfect transition from one gear to the next. Discs are assembled with only performance components and equipped with torsion springs functioning as a damper between engine and gearbox. Recommend usages are Rally, Endurance Race, Clubsport, Autocross, Street and Daily.

Stage IV Extreme

This is a "build to order" clutch kit intended for cars with HP modifications exceeding Stage 3 levels. The Race Engineered pressure plate is modified for maximum plate load. The discs are puck design with sprung and un-sprung options. Friction material options include Sintered Iron and Graphite Impregnated Ceramic. Engagement characteristics can be abrupt. Hydraulic systems may need enhancing for proper clutch separation. Torque ratings are calculated at time of ordering.

Flywheel Features

Flywheels manufactured by DXD are made from low carbon, hot rolled steel that is highly resistant to warping and perfectly suited for the friction materials mated to them. Single mount CNC machining guarantees precise tolerances and perfect balance exceeding O.E. specifications. Extensive field-testing has been done to determine the proper weight for each specific vehicle and to ensure smooth operation, safety and durability under extreme operating conditions. The steel flywheel with this kit weights 19 lbs.

All DXD Racing clutches for the 2.0 TSI include crank bolts and are SFI Approved.

Can't ask for more from a 7.1 or 5.1.2 receiver
Style: Receiver, Style: Receiver
My previous Yamaha receiver was 10 ys old, and was an entry level 5.1 model (RX-V373). I accidentally fried it by putting my phone's USB connector in. I have been wanting to upgrade for a while the last few yrs but waited it out until receivers have 8k pass through (so whenever 8k becomes more of a thing I can keep this new one a bit longer). The 3773 had 4k pass through when I got it 10 yrs ago, well before 4k became as available as it is now for example, which was one reason I held out on replacing as long as I did. This time around I decided to step up into the premium Aventage line of Yamaha. It was between this & the A4A, not a huge price difference, but I would have needed to replace my entertainment center since the A4A is too deep to fit. Didn't seem worth it & now I'm really happy with my choice. My living room set up (in a condo) has 2 surrounds, to add 2 more would require building mounts on the wall (couch is against the wall with 2 surrounds on side tables) which I don't want. This has 7 channels to allow for 2 Atmos front firing speakers which I got & love how immersive it sounds. Bi-amping the front towers is an option, but that uses 2 extra channels so the Atmos front speakers can't be connected at the same time as bi-amping. I experimented with biamping & biwiring & couldn't hear any difference so I have the fronts biwired, allowing for the 2 Atmos front connections. New features/improvements from my old receiver include more power/watts, lower THD & better sound, streaming music directly from the receiver with Music Cast, and it processes Atmos & DTS audio. One key feature all the Aventage models have that the RX ones don't is the 5th foot in the middle, which was designed & tested to improve the sound with more stabilization. Aventage also has a 3 yr warranty (vs 2 for RX). The top of the line RX model looks identical in specs which I also considered but it just sounds like this 1st Aventage model is slightly better with it its parts & sound quality, and not that much more. Especially since I got the A2A on sale for 999.95 (vs the 1200 price). I actually bought this for 1150 which was a teeny mark down, and then saw Amazon put it on sale for 999.95 shortly after (about 2 weeks). Amazon customer service was great when I called about that, and they credited the difference. Back to the receiver...2 subwoofers can be connected, and an amplifier for the 2 front speakers can be connected as well through pre outs. Probably more improvements but those are the main ones. Along with this receiver upgrade, I also upgraded my subwoofer & added a Nvidia Shield Pro streamer (due to it handling Atmos & 4k upscaling of lower hd content, which my Roku Ultra cannot do). My system now includes Polk TSI 400 front towers Polk CS20 center, Polk T15 surrounds (all of these Polk speakers are from 10 yrs ago as well & still work great for me, they sound better too with this receiver). I added Klipsch R-41SA Atmos front firing speakers, and upgraded from a Polk PSW505 subwoofer to an SVS SB3000 (night & day difference with that upgrade!). Have a Roku Ultra from a few yrs ago, and the Nvidia as well now. The TV also will be upgraded at some point, but I'm perfectly content with it now (is a 7 yrs old 55 inch 4K Sony Bravia). This receiver also processes Dolby Vision which I'd need a new TV for, as well as eArc which this receiver also has. Over time I will continue adding to my set up. A decent record player is next, and a current blu ray player (the one I have is rather old & only has 1080p). Then a new TV & A 2nd sub (will get another SVS SB3000). The last & most expensive upgrade will be the rest of the speakers. From Polk to B&W most likely, but when I get to this I will compare both at the same price point as I am still very impressed with the quality of my Polks for their price point. I also plan to add an amp (Emotiva most likely) to power the fronts. Another reason I was ok with the A2A watts per channel for now (100 with 2 channels driven for music, unsure what it is at 5.1.2 but it's plenty especially with the thunder the SVS sub provides even at low volumes, and the ability to boost dialogue in addition to the center channel. I'd rather get a dedicated amp for more music power than a higher priced receiver just due to more watts. Very pricey to do all of this at once (in particular the speakers & amp), but for now I am thrilled with how much better everything sounds with these phase 1 upgrades. Highly recommend it, if you are coming from an entry level budget receiver this can pump more life into your current speakers.

Sounds fantastic and easy to operate
Style: Receiver
I used to sell home audio equipment a long time ago and I love this unit! Nice & clean look, the layout for inputs/output is standard and easy to see and the remote makes sense...well, to me it does lol. I had purchased an O***o unit because it's been good brand for a while...returned it because it was defective but I didn't care for it (you had to be a real audiophile to get into the setup and who has time for that?). The Yamaha is easy to work with and sounds fantastic. Make sure you don't go cheap on the speakers!

Great when on sale
Style: Receiver
Update: I got a new Sony X90L TV and this receiver just doesn't like that TV or something. I've had at least 4 instances where the TV said there was no signal. The receiver was on and the proper input was selected. If I hit the menu button on the receiver, I could see that. No inputs on the receiver would work. Unplugging the power from the receiver and plugging it back in fixes the problem in every case. Based on my googling, many others have similar problems. Yamaha receivers are generally over priced I've noticed. And they seem to skimp on features, e.g. a receiver with an MSRP of $1000 doesn't have a single analog video input. I got this on sale for $650 and for that I'm quite happy. I had a Denon that I got pretty inexpensively, but I hated the Denon. Things didn't work, it was confusing, didn't sound all that good and didn't do HDMI input switching well. The Yamaha is a far better reliever in every way. It does cost quite a bit more but it's just so much nicer.

Modern interfaces, clean sound of Yamaha, tons of features and intelligence.
Style: Receiver
Modern interfaces, clean sound of Yamaha, tons of features and intelligence. Purchased this to replace my amazing RX3300 (it started turning off on its own), and wasn't sure these newer generations of AV receivers would have the same clean and powerful sound, but the RX-A2A did not disappoint. Plus I am loving all of the new features and more relevant interfaces. It provides great value for the price. It is one of the few brands that kept the original sound as natural as possible (of course, there are plenty of modes to choose from for specific characteristics, but only if you choose). Perfect fit for my large family room.

Hours of my life I won’t get back.
Style: Receiver
I tried to make this system work. I REALLY did. Probably blew 10 hours trying to somehow make it work. Had to return it. Customer Support - What customer support? Yamaha cut hours from weak 9 to only 5 hrs a day. Email/chat got no call back. It’s so bad I’m not sure Yamaha is gonna make it. Lip sync - Impossible to fix video to sound lag. Musiccast wireless - See lag. Also sound is tinny as hell. Also won’t stay linked. Could not get speakers to respond to giant volume knob. Would respond to app. App was mediocre. Tried to use with YSP-5600 sound bar which is allegedly Mussiccast. Nope. In short, it has been a HORRIBLE experience and I really tried.
