The tribes of Dan and Judah are compared to a lion, but it is the name of Judas that became linked to the lion. This powerful message of the lions of Judah combined with the Ten Commandments that God revealed to the Jewish people on Mt. Sinai is represented in this Hanukkah menorah. The two tablets of the law have the commandments numbered in Hebrew in the order of the Hebrew alphabet. The concept and design of this menorah was developed with Julie Staller-Pentelnik, a Jewish artist who specialized in Hebrew calligraphy and ketubot. The iridescent beige glass with the image of the lion has been sandblasted first and then fire polished in the kiln before being the lions are adhered to the background glass of the ten commandments. The glass base is constructed to hold the tablets upright. The zinc bar that holds the candles for each of the eight nights and the shammos is added last. Size - 12 x 7 x 3"
