Many of its players worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory during the week and traveled the Southeast playing games

Many of its players worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory during the week and traveled the Southeast playing games on weekends, with alumni like Eugene Williams, who later starred in the Negro Leagues. Their legacy is commemorated by a National Park Service historical marker at the Oak Ridge Baseball Complex.
