Time will fly as you decide the fate of your own personal captain, will they plunder the seas and become a wanted pirate or become a rich merchant? The choice is yours.
There are so many things to do in this game, it feels like an open world pirate game. You can seek your fortune through completing missions, acquiring rumours or trading goods at different ports. You can upgrade your ship with ammunition, hire crew members or even buy a new vessel. You can fight with non-playing characters from different nations or decide to go head to head against your friends and plunder their ship.
There is nothing quite like defeating someone in combat and stealing everything they have been working so hard to acquire. These are just a few of the different choices that are open to you whilst playing this game.
At any point during Merchants and Marauders you can decide to go rogue, or you can play the whole game the honest way, it is completely up to you. Both paths have upsides but both can be dangerous. Pirates will be hunted by players for bounty and blocked from certain ports, but merchants will be targeted by pirates for their precious cargo. Even though players can be defeated there is no player elimination as a new captain is drawn.
In Merchants and Marauders you will take on the role of a captain from England, France, Spain or the Netherlands and try to be the first captain to achieve 10 glory points. This can be done through defeating other players in combat, making a big profit trade, plundering through raids, completing missions, finding out if a rumour is true, stashing gold and buying new ships.
The game features a thematic combat system that relies on skill and luck and will have you on the edge of your seat with excitement. Every game feels like an immense adventure and a completely unique experience. Will you gain eternal glory and unimaginable wealth or find yourself lying in Davy Jones' Locker?
