For fans of PRS or of semi-hollows in general, the PRS S2 Vela Semi-Hollow touches down in impressive fashion. Embodying so many elements of what makes a great semi-hollow while blazing its own trail, this is a semi-hollow for anyone.

Starting out with a semi-hollow mahogany body with an asymmetric top bevel, the S2 Vela Semi-Hollow is notably light and acoustically resonant to form its primary shape. This model’s unique offset, double-cutaway shape is one-of-a-kind and distinctly PRS. The mahogany body is paired up with a set, scarfed mahogany neck in a PRS Pattern Regular shape. Featuring a twenty-two-fret rosewood fingerboard, the full experience of the neck comes together as quick and perfect for smooth trips up and down the entire scale. Classic PRS Birds fret inlays adorn the rosewood for that unmistakable PRS aesthetic element.

This PRS S2 Vela Semi-Hollow is outfitted with a unique and dynamic PRS pickup configuration. Loaded to the pickguard and with many musical endeavors to undertake, a PRS DS-01 pickup in the treble position produces a classic, punchy tone. This first pickup is matched with a PRS Narrowfield pickup in the bass position to further widen the palette of sounds to play with. A push/pull tone control allows players to split the DS-01 to incorporate authentic single-coil tonality and get even more sonic mileage.

A carefully-considered PRS hardware setup lands on this guitar to ground the tonal experience. Bringing up a classic element, a plate-style bridge lands on this model, harkening to early PRS top-loading bridge designs. This bridge design features two brass saddles and a steel plate to compensate for intonation and ensure ease in stringing. PRS’s low mass locking tuners contribute to this guitar’s total stability to solidify a consistent sound and feel across the whole instrument.

Being in school and studying 8+ hours a day at my desk would normally make my back hurt in any other chair. Fortunately, after using this chair all day I have very very minimal back pain, if any at all (definitely due to previous injuries). UPDATE: DEFECTIVE… it was a Great chair... a bit short for tall people!

I purchased this chair four years ago and really liked it. However, when it was damaged during a move, I attempted to replace it. Unfortunately, the replacement chair had a construction issue that had been repeatedly mentioned in numerous comments spanning over a year at least. This defect prevents the chair from being completely assembled, rendering it unusable (screw holes don’t line up). Amazon has failed to address this issue by removing these defective chairs from its inventory. You won’t be aware of this problem until you’ve almost completed assembling the chair. At that point, you’ll have to disassemble it, rebox it, and return the box to UPS. This is an incredibly inconvenient process, and Amazon must take immediate action to rectify this issue before anyone considers purchasing this chair again. Old review from 2023: Based on someone else's review, it would seem that this chair is perfect for average-height people but less great for those of us who are a bit tall or (according to her) a bit short. I'm 5'9 with most of my height in my legs. I like a chair to be tall enough that my legs can be straight to the floor from my knees to my feet and still have support under my knees. This chair is too short for that, even at it's highest setting, but it can be fixed with a simple replacement of the gas lift cylinder for a mere $20 (search for gas lift cylinder on Amazon). And the extra $20 is worth it because other than that one issue, this chair is great. My first experience with this chair was at work when the firm replaced all of our desk chairs. I loved it so much that I bought it for myself when I went into private practice. The lumbar support hits in just the right spot and moves with your body as you lean in and out. I love the cream color, and the seat is padded nicely. I especially love the liftable arms. I sit at my desk for 8+ hours straight 5-6 days a week, and I never have body pain-- Granted, I am only 36, but I have definitely experienced this with other office chairs that claimed to be "ergonomic". With a simple lift cylinder replacement and a movable standing desk (which I never actually stand at), I can finally sit at my desk without my knees hitting the underside of the desk or my legs having to be extended out to have support under my knees. These two things mean that I don't slump at my desk anymore, and my neck and back thank me! :)

Chair looks great and is very comfortable and well made. I took stars off because a couple of issues that I can’t live with and will require me to buy another chair. The chair does not rise high enough. Unlike other office chairs, I feel like I’m a little kid at the adult table(I’m 5’10” male). The most annoying feature is the chair back angle isn’t adjustable so I’m always at a slight recline. I have to place a pillow behind me to look like I’m not falling asleep while on camera. Suprised there isn’t an adjustment for that. I would have discovered all of this if I was able to try it out before hand but the mass positive rating don’t mention these issues.
