Loved by musicians across generations, this beautifully crafted instrument makes a nod to the iconic '50s Les Paul models, capturing nuances of its legendary design.
A reborn classic, this Les Paul sports a two-piece figured maple top that uses a hide glue connection to be paired with a one-piece lightweight mahogany back and sides. With its Washed Cherry Sunburst finish doing little to impede the figuring of the wood below, figured maple's grain is put on full display and highlighted the way it would be on an original 1959 Les Paul, albeit in incredible condition.
The solid mahogany neck of this Les Paul reissue boasts an authentic '59 Medium C profile, offering players a chance the experience of feeling a neck similar to that of the original models. Topped with an Indian rosewood fingerboard, expertly fitted with hide glue like its top, cellulose nitrate Trapezoid inlays and 22 frets demand attention.
Coming loaded with two unpotted Custombucker Alnico III pickups, the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue delivers the iconic tones that have defined Gibson for decades. These PAF-inspired humbuckers offer versatility with simple but effective controls, including 2 volume and 2 tone knobs both using CTS 500k taper point, and paper-in-oil caps.
VOS Washed Cherry Sunburst is the eye grabbing finish of this Les Paul Reissue, meticulously applied by the Gibson Custom Shop. While many authentic '50s Les Pauls are loved for their pawn shop window-aged appearance, this one emulates the finish of a guitar that was taken excellent care of since its birth in the 1950s. It comes complete with a Brown/Pink Gibson Custom Shop Reissue hard case.
