Ferdinando Zanusso maakt schone en zuivere vin nature. Met opbrengsten van slechts 20hl/ha, van wijnstokken van 80 jaar, gebruikt hij enkel spontane wilde gisten, geen klaring, geen filtratie en lang opvoeden op RVS-tanks en barrique. Hij gebruikt hiervoor uitsluitend de oude autochtone druivensoorten van zijn regio Friuli. Zijn wijnen staan in het teken van vier verschillende druiven variëteiten en van de vijf verschillende karakters van het terroir. 

Friuli ligt in het uiterste noordoosten van Italië en grenst aan Oostenrijk en Slovenië. De streek is bekend om zijn fijne witte wijnen van o.a. de Friulano, Ribolla en Malvasia druiven.
