Zuid-Afrikaanse Houtskool heeft de volgende voordelen. 

1. Gemakkelijk aan te steken 
2. Het brandt gelijkmatig en langdurig.
3. Hoge temperatuur
4. Het spat tijdens het branden niet en is dus een stuk prettiger in gebruik. 
5. Het geeft exact de juiste geur en smaak af aan het vlees.
6. Het bevat mooie grove stukken houtskool (40-120mm), zonder teveel gruis en stof 

Wanneer we spreken over Zuid-Afrikaanse Houtskool spreken we eigenlijk over hout van de Australische Acacia (Black Wattle) Het gaat hier om een snelgroeiende, uitheemse, boom die veel voorkomt in Zuid Afrika. Onze Houtskool wordt alleen van afval hout gebrand. Er worden geen bomen voor gekapt. 

Dammers houtskool is dan ook FSC® gecertificeerd.
