Hierdoor staan de pennen langer, stabieler en kleven ze beter aan de ondergrond. De gronddoekpennen zijn 16 cm lang en hebben stevige haken zodat de pennen niet bewegen indien het gronddoek wordt opgetild. Om het doek goed te kunnen bevestigen moeten de gronddoekpennen om de 1 meter in de grond worden gehamerd.
