- De gesloten hoes kan elk moment nog geopend worden door een tweede ritssluiting. Hierdoor kan de plant nog extra geisoleerd worden met bijvoorbeeld stro. Ook kan hierdoor de plant water krijgen of gelucht worden
- Voor planten met lange stam zijn de grote maten hoezen erg geschikt. Zo kan met één hoes zowel de plant, stam en pot beschermd worden
