1. SFP+ modules zijn de standaard voor glasvezel communicatie

Fabrikanten van netwerkapparatuur ondersteunen de SFP, SFP+ en QSFP standaarden. SFP+ modules worden toegepast in verschillende apparatuur zoals switches, routers, firewalls, servers en opslag apparaten. De apparatuur is voorzien van een poort waar een SFP+ module ingeplugd kan worden, de afkorting SFP+ staat voor Small Formfactor Pluggable en de + betekent een snelheid van 10Gbps.
De standaard voor gebruik van SFP+ modules is tot stand gekomen in samenwerkspraak met de verschillende fabrikanten. Deze standaard wordt daarom een MSA genoemd wat staat voor Multi-Source Agreement.

2. SFP+ modules zorgen voor maximale flexibiliteit in een glasvezelnetwerk

Een glasvezelkabel wordt aangesloten op een SFP+ module, deze module wordt in de switch geplaatst. De SFP+ module dient als interface tussen de glasvezelkabel en de aangesloten apparatuur. Dit zorgt uiteindelijk voor maximale flexibiliteit, namelijk de SFP+ kan aangepast worden zonder dat de desbetreffende apparatuur aangepast of vervangen hoeft te worden.

Situaties waarin alleen de SFP+ module vervangen hoeft te worden, i.p.v. de apparatuur:
- Overgang naar netwerk met ander type glasvezel; bijvoorbeeld van singlemode naar multimode.
- Gewijzigde afstand; bijvoorbeeld van kabels 100 meter naar 80 kilometer.
- Overgang naar andere snelheid; als bijvoorbeeld snelheid van de switch wijzigt 1G naar 10G.
- Ander soort glasvezel connector; als er bijvoorbeeld in plaats van een LC een SC connector op de bekabeling geplaatst is.

3. Continuïteit in het netwerk door gebruik van hot swappable SFP+ modules

Bij wijzigingen in vezeltype, afstand, snelheid en connector wordt de SFP+ module vervangen. Belangrijk voordeel is dat de apparatuur niet uit of herstart hoeft te worden tijdens plaatsing van de SFP+ modules, dit zorgt voor uitstekende continuïteit in het netwerk. Het in gebruik houden van apparatuur tijdens het plaatsen en/of vervangen van glasvezel (SFP+) modules wordt “Hot swappable” genoemd.

Hoe kan ik SFP+ modules reinigen?

Een groot deel van storingen in glasvezelnetwerken wordt opgelost door bekabeling en de optics te reinigen. Advies is om een SFP+ modules niet vuil te laten worden door alleen kabels met gereinigde connectoren te gebruiken. 4.5 stars. It's a great product. The pictures made me wonder if this was wood or plastic, but it is definitely wood. It is very attractive and fairly easy to assemble. I feel like the harnesses for the wall don't fit the wood well enough, so you can get different distances from the wall, and one of my shelves is half a centimeter below the others, even though I lined it up the same. But they are sturdy shelves and very pretty. My only real complaint is the screw anchors for the walls. They are SERIOUS. I doubt these will ever fall out of the wall, for real. The only problem is, they eat the wall as you are putting them in. If I ever decide to move these, I will have to do some serious dry wall repair.

Simple, sturdy, and looks great in the room

I bought this farmhouse shelf for our bedroom because I needed extra storage that would not make the space feel cramped. Great shelves for the price you pay. They look good and seem to have good stability so far; we’ll see if anything falls on heads. I put a 6 pack of each up in my son’s rooms and they have all kinds of stuff from katanas to books to knick knacks on them. The shelves aren’t finished so they can leave slivers and might be harder to clean with just a cloth. They came with 6 pieces of wood, not pre-drilled or with any marks for holes, a pack of pretty tough brackets, and all mounting hardware. We used a level, hammer, stud finder, tape measure, the provided wall anchors, long and short screws, pencil, 13/64 drill bit, Phillips head bit, and drill. These helped save space and get rid of some of their clutter.
