Klimaat
Rioja Baja beschikt over een meer Mediterraan klimaat dan het hogere gelegen Rioja Alta en Alavesa. De winters zijn mild met voldoende neerslag. De zomers zijn lang, warm en droog met een zonnige, milde herfst met meer zonne-uren dan in het Noorden. Daarom zijn de wijnen hier vaak rijper en fruitiger (Maar soms minder stevig)

Ondergrond
Rioja Baja beschikt over iets lagere wijngaarden tot 300m. De bodems bestaan uit ijzerhoudende klei, kalkachtige zandsteen en rivierslib.

Vinificatie
80% Tempranillo & 20% Graciano. Traditionele vinificatie onder gecontroleerde temperatuur in grote Barriques of betonnen cuves. Maceratie op de pelletjes gedurende 12 tot 15 dagen. Malolactische gisting gebeurt op inox waarna de wijnen worden gelagerd op Amerikaanse en Franse eiken vaten gedurende 24 maanden en 12 maanden op fles.
