Als onderdeel van de Japanse Esdoorn productgroep staat de 'Skeeters Broom' bekend om zijn compacte groei en sierlijke uitstraling. Hij gedijt het beste op een plek met halfschaduw en goed doorlatende grond. Zorg voor voldoende vocht, vooral tijdens droge periodes, maar vermijd natte voeten.
