In het Victoriaanse Londen jaagt de beroemde detective Sherlock Holmes en zijn team op de mysterieuze crimineel Moriarty. De achtervolging vindt plaats door de hele stad en de detectives moeten samenwerken om hem te pakken te krijgen.

In Scotland Yard: Sherlock Holmes Editie, een nieuwe versie van Scotland Yard, kruipen spelers in de huid van Sherlock Holmes, zijn broer Mycroft en zijn metgezellen Dr. Watson, Inspecteur Lestrade en Irene Adler, en achtervolgen Moriarty door de straten van Londen. Moriarty wordt zelden gezien en kan in het geheim een luchtballon gebruiken om zijn sporen te verbergen en snel ergens anders naartoe te gaan.
