Bloemen en bloeiperiode van de Druifheide - Leucothoe walteri 'Rainbow'

De bloemkleur van deze sierlijke wintergroene plant is wit. De bloeitijd is van ca. april tot en met mei. De bladeren zijn rose en wit. Verdraagt een temperatuur tot -20 graden Celsius. Ook als bodembedekker te gebruiken. Is goed verkrijgbaar.

Druifheide - Leucothoe walteri 'Rainbow' standplaats

Qua standplaats heeft deze heideplant weinig eisen. Te gebruiken zonder specifieke eisen aan hun standplaats. Met een grote sierwaarde, vooral bv. als accentplant in het openbaar groen en in de tuin vanwege de mooie vorm, de bloeiwijze of de bladkleur. Deze plant wenst een matig voedselrijke, vochthoudende tot vochtige, zandige bodem. Heeft een voorkeur voor zure tot neutrale grond (pH = 4.5 - 7). Deze heideplant verlangt een plekje uit de volle zon. Dus bij voorkeur in gefilterd licht van andere planten. Een plekje in de halfschaduw wordt ook verdragen. Kan bij nachtvorst in april-mei schade oplopen.

Deze Druifheide - Leucothoe 'Curly Red' combineert goed met andere zuurminnende heesters zoals:

  • Dwergsneeuwbal
  • (dwerg) hortensia
  • Azalea
  • Rododendron
  • Rotsheide
  • Skimma struiken
