Een razend spannend oorlogsverhaal over een jonge verzetsstrijder in Nederland ten tijde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog.

Het is oktober 1944. Londen ligt onder vuur. Duitse raketten vliegen sneller dan het geluid en slaan zonder waarschuwing in. De zestienjarige Yvie Russell en haar familie hebben de Blitz overleefd, maar weten ze deze nieuwe dreiging ook te doorstaan?

Ook de Poolse dwangarbeider Tomasz Nowicki vreest voor zijn leven. Onder erbarmelijke omstandigheden bouwt hij V2-raketten voor de Duitsers, terwijl hij betwijfelt of hij zijn zeventiende verjaardag zal halen.

De Nederlandse Marijke de Haan ziet steeds meer van deze raketten opduiken in het bos vlak bij het dorp waar ze woont. Samen met haar vriend Thijs riskeert ze haar leven door ze te fotograferen voor het verzet.

De jonge Duitse soldaat Rolf Maier heeft de opdracht gekregen om het V2-lanceerplatform te bewaken. Hij weet dat de oorlog verloren is en verwacht te worden gedood nog voordat deze eindigt.

Naarmate de herfst verstrijkt, raken de levens van Rolf, Marijke, Tomasz en Yvie steeds verder verstrengeld. Wie van hen weet de oorlog te doorstaan en wie zal de naderende winter niet overleven?

This product was just what we needed. We put it in the freezer with some peanut butter in the center on both sides. Once frozen we give to our puppy. She loves it. She loves it and it keeps her occupied for a while. It is very durable. I did not notice any smell when we received it. It does not make any noise. The plastic material is safe for animals. To clean I put in the dishwasher. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because sometimes the peanut butter gets stuck in it and may need to go through the dishwasher twice which is not a big deal. Or you can hand wash it. I found the dishwasher was best for us. You do not even have to put anything on it, but our pup likes it. I would recommend to others.
