Allendorf Save Water Drink Riesling

Droog, speels en vol levenslust: deze Riesling van Weingut Allendorf draagt niet voor niets de naam ‘Save Water Drink Riesling’. Achter het knipoogetiket schuilt een serieuze wijn, gemaakt in het hart van de Rheingau. Knisperfris, mineraal en met een citruskick die je glas tot leven wekt.

Wijngaarden en regio – frisse druiven aan de Rijn

Deze Riesling groeit op steile hellingen langs de Rijn, waar leisteen en löss zorgen voor die kenmerkende minerale spanning. Het gebied rond Oestrich-Winkel combineert verkoelende riviermist met veel zonlicht, waardoor de druiven langzaam en vol aroma rijpen. Geen toeval dat de Rheingau wereldwijd tot de topregio’s voor Riesling wordt gerekend.

Vinificatie en stijl – energie in het glas

Na een zachte persing volgt vergisting op lage temperatuur in roestvrijstalen tanks. Hout komt er niet aan te pas: het draait hier om puurheid. De wijn blijft kort op de fijne lie om net dat beetje extra diepgang te geven. Fris, strak en helemaal in balans.

Proefnotities

Limoen, groene appel en een vleugje perzik stromen uit het glas. De smaak is levendig, rechtlijnig en sappig met een fijne ziltige rand. Droog, maar nooit streng. De frisheid springt eruit, zonder zuur te zijn.

Serveersuggesties

Denk aan ceviche, sushi, loempia’s met limoensaus of gewoon... een lege tuinbank in de zon. Serveer op 8 tot 10 graden en het leven lacht je toe.
