De Don PX 1980 Gran Reserva van Bodegas Toro Albalá is een zeldzaam juweel uit de Montilla-Moriles DO, vervaardigd van 100% Pedro Ximénez-druiven. Deze edelzoete wijn heeft meer dan vier decennia gerijpt in oude eiken vaten en behoort tot de meest toegankelijke vintage uit de legendarische Collection-serie van dit respectabele Andalusische wijnhuis.

Smaakprofiel

Donkerbruin met mahoniebruine reflecties. In de neus intense aroma's van gedroogde vijgen, dadels, chocolade, karamel en een vleugje balsamico. De smaak is stroperig en fluweelzacht met rijke tonen van sultanarozijnen, espressomokka, gebrande hazelnoten en warme kruiden zoals kaneel. Ondanks de immense concentratie behoudt deze PX een opvallende frisheid en elegantie. De afdronk is eindeloos en harmonieus, met nagalmende tonen van donkere chocolade en gedroogd fruit.

Spijscombinaties

Perfect als digestief na een uitgebreide maaltijd, uitstekend bij Roquefort of Cabrales blauwschimmelkazen, donkere chocolademousse of vanille-ijs. Ook heerlijk bij foie gras of als begeleiding bij sigaren. Serveer op 12-14°C.

Had for just over 9 years now and still pretty solid

I ordered this chair back in December 2015 for our front office, and it's been moved to our back shop where we fabricate. We're not a gentle work space by any stretch of the imagination; we build stuff and it's messy, lots of tools etc. This chair has held up surprisingly well! The faux leather is delaminating almost entirely on the seat but honestly, I'd expect that for faux leather on something that is used daily. The seat pad, in my opinion, has gotten de-poofed. So it's not plush anymore but still usable. I've asked the guy that's using it if they want an upgrade/update and they said they like it and don't want to change it out just yet. That's saying something! The size is nice and wide. We've had a range of differently sized folks sit in the chair over the years and the seat was always comfortable (less now without so much seat poof), I was able to sit cross-legged and the whole chair felt sturdy then as it does now. All of the standards functions you'd want an office chair to do, it can still do: it goes up and down smoothly, it rolls just fine, it's still pivot-reclines comfortably and doesn't feel like it's going to topple. I like it!
