De Duffel Coat ofwel ‘houtje touwtje’ is van origine een klassieke vooroorlogse engelse loden jas.

Hij kreeg de bijnaam ‘Monty’ toen General Montgomery in een Gloverall Duffel Coat ten tonele verscheen in ww II. 

De gewalkte wol is winddicht en goed water en sneeuw afwijzend. Loden was voor de uitvinding van de kunststoffen het meest gebruikte materiaal dat gekozen werd om weerbestendige winterjassen van te maken. De jassen hebben geen rits maar de sluiting is dusdanig goed bedacht dat er geen wind en koude doorheen komt. De jas gaat een leven lang mee en is daarmee ook nog een duurzame aankoop.
